Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor, producer, and director. She has been praised by film producers for roles like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter won many awards, including an Oscar for her movie Piano. The well-known actress began her acting career on stage, performing in a variety of Broadway and Off Broadway productions. It has been an integral part of her passion. In fifth grade, she portrayed Helen Keller. Mumps caused her to be blind and deaf in one ear. However, she refused to let that to stop her from becoming an actress. As a young woman she took classes in drama at college and moved in New York City from Pittsburgh to achieve her goals. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and they collaborated in Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. Hunter was then moved into Los Angeles and tried to land the roles in films. in Swing Shift, she landed an appearance as a supporting character. Since then she has appeared in several TV shows and films in over three decades. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has also won the Women in Film Lucy Award.
